Short drive to Ashville.Located in northwestern South Carolina only 8 miles from the North Carolina border, this home was custom built in 2005. Supported by exposed white pine timbers and tongue and groove vaulted ceilings there's a rustic feel but with modern state of the art features. Inspected and certified as both an "Energy Star" and "Earth Craft" home, features inlude double pane, gas-filled windows, R-40 ceiling and R-28 wall insulation, and a 17 SEER Trane heating and A/C with a 7 1/2 year parts and labor warranty remaining. The exposed post and beam construction is highlighted by sheetrock interior walls that give greater flexibility in decorating. Heart pine, random width flooring covers the 14' x 32' great room, hall and large Master BR. Yellow pine flooring is in the 18' x 14' open loft overlooking the great room, the large open kitchen (with custom heart pine cabinets and Corian counter tops), and the upstairs bedroom and bath. The Master bath has cedar flooring to compliment the iron tub and separate shower. The lower level bedroom, bath, 12' x 14' rec room, and laundry are floored with Armstrong laminate. Approximately 700 square feet of unfinished basement has storage bins and shelves for crafts, etc. The exterior of the home is designed to enjoy the hardwoods, mountain laurel, and owner landscaping. Siding is Hardi-Plank for wear and safety. On the side of the house is a 12' x 44' open deck with cedar railing. At the rear of the main level is a 10' x 42' covered porch with cypress post and beam construction. This is the place to enjoy the sunsets over the 80 acre lake and the mountains of North Carolina. In addition there is a 10' x 52' covered porch on the lower level and a small entry porch in front . City water, county maintained street, neighbors that are close but barely visible make this a great place for a get-away from the city and even better as a primary residence. The community around the lake has an association to maintain the lake, boat-launch and picnic area and to set limited rules to assure a wholesome environment for all. Dues are $75/year which is the deal of a lifetime. The following are reasonable travel times to the places indicated: Atlanta I-85/I-285 2 hours, Greenville, SC 1 50 min., Clemson, SC 25-30 minutes Cashiers, NC 30 min, Ashville, NC 1 hr, 15 min.. Reduced to $346,000.
Hi Troy! We own outright a waterfront top-floor condo with "million-dollar view", 1350 sq ft 2 BR 2BA with wraparound deck over the Intracoastal Waterway, in Little River, SC, only 3 miles from the NC/SC border. Equally short drives to Myrtle Beach and Wilmington NC, the location is Spinnaker Cove in Eastport Golf & Country Club, a lovely and active golf course community. Spinnaker Cove is a handful of premiere waterfacing buildings built about six years ago, only six units to each building, the most luxurious and low-cost way to live in the area if you like a combo of water and golf. Taxes are only $700 per year, and the monthly HOA of $364 covers insurance, utilities (except elec), pool & spa maintenance, landscaping, exterior expenses. It has a new roof and a new Trane AC. We've owned it for four years as a second home (our residence is in Wilmington, NC, on the water) and would like to swap the condo for something in the mountains so that we have places on the water and in the mountains. We purchased it for $385,000 and current market value is somewhere between $350,000 and $399,000. If you have an interest in discussing a swap, please email me at acarlisle@ggu.edu, or call 910-799-1854. Anne & Mark
Anne, Thanks for your interest. A condo will not work for us at the moment. Are you interested in a trade for your Wilmington house or other water accessable NC coastal property?
Thanks for your inquiry.
Troy
Thanks, Troy. My husband is employed in Wilmington and we plan on keeping our house. By the way, do you rent out your Asheville property? We're planning a trip over there at the end of October. Let me know if so....
Thanks for your note.
Anne
