"Non-travel agent" International travel arrangements.

My wife, Laney, and I are very experienced world travelers. I am a retired, international airline pilot and Laney has spent (virtually) years traveling around the world, often on her own with a backpack--three years at a time. We have visited literally hundreds of countries and have extensive travel experience, as you can only imagine. We have hosted international travelers and have been hosted by others many, many times in our "over 50 years" of travel (so, we're older folks and I speak for myself--I'm 68, Laney, under 60). We generally travel and play golf in retirement and, though it may sound like we are affluent, that is not really the case, since we experienced a loss of a substantial part of pension when our airline, UAL went chapter 11 a few years ago. We are "comfortable" in our home and have done several "swaps" where folks actually stay with us--more especially to play golf at our renowned #1-world-rated course, but also simply to tour the "nature coast"--the western central gulf coast of Florida. This is a fascinating area, with some of the best fishing in the world. Come visit the manatees--docile sea cows that you may even swim with. This is horse country too, boasting some of the most beautiful and prestigious horse farms in the world. Enough of the ad (see my "comments," below for swap and stay possibilities)--but I propose we start a discussion group of like-minded folks who would consider explaining where they live or have visited in interesting terms, like the above for examples. We would then continue showing swap and/or other such travel possibilities with suggestions and hints of "what and where." There are so many interesting place in this world and if you can help others have a great travel possibility with neat places to stay, what to do and see and do, I believe we all may benefit substantially from your and others' experiences.
