The property is located in a rural area of SW Colorado - 50 mi west of Telluride Ski Resort, 100 mi south of Grand Junction, CO (which sits aside Interstate 70) and about 90 mi east of Moab, UT (many National Parks). We are about a 6 hour drive from Salt Lake & Denver.
The region has strong deposits of natural gas & uranium, both of which will be developed as the County finally shifts energy policies from fossil fuels. Exploration and mining are well underway. The San Miguel Basin (15 mi south of Naturita) has hundreds of approved leases awaiting drilling for gas and the Uravan corridor holds vast amount of uranium. A uranium processing mill will be built next year and ready for production in 2010 (see www.energyfuels.com) - hundreds will be employed to build it and around 300 will be employed once it is operational.
Both of these industries have sub-contractors that come in from elsewhere and need lodging, whether by the week or month. There is virtually no competition for quality furnished housing anywhere near what is offered by our property.
